Human-Centred AI for social sustainability – visiting academic talk

Visiting academic talk with Prof Kaisa Väänänen

Applications of Artificial Intelligence are entering all areas of society. While research and development in AI technologies have taken major leaps, understanding the human perspective of AI is still in its early stages.

In my talk I will focus on how AI’s qualities, such as proactivity, data-drivenness, and human-AI collaboration, can be used to advance social sustainability. I will explore AI’s design potential through several research examples. My talk will also suggest future directions for research and practice of human-centred AI. I hope to engage the audience in the discussion on the benefits and pitfalls of AI in the broad context of sustainable development.
