Dear Brisbane ACM SIGCHI chapter members,
It is time again for our annual general meeting. Thank you all for being a part of the past year’s activities.
According to the ACM chapter by-laws under which we operate, each year we need to hold an annual election meeting where members can elect the chapter officers. Voting membership in the Chapter is granted to all active Chapter members (so if you are receiving this message, you are eligible to vote). Chapter officers will be elected by a plurality of votes cast at the meeting.
All positions are up for election:
- Chair: Responsible for organising monthly chapter meetings and liaising with ACM.
- Vice-chair: Responsible for membership and chapter direction.
- Treasurer: Responsible for website and finances.
- Events co-chairs: Responsible for identifying and organising events.
- Industry co-chairs: Responsible for connecting with industry, seeking membership and industry events.
- Engagement co-chairs: Responsible for social media engagement, diversity, and community development.
We also have lots of other opportunities for you to be involved, so please reach out if you have any other ideas for how you would like to contribute. We are keen to see a cross-institutional mix of committee members from research students to senior academics, as well as industry representation.
At this meeting, we will also seek your feedback on how the chapter is operating and suggestions for next year.
